About Us
In 2004, Vukapanda Transport Services (Pty) Ltd (“VTS”) was established as an empowerment company benefiting a dedicated group of employees, employed by the MacDonald’s Group of Companies, through VTS’s majority shareholder, namely the Vukapanda Broad-Based Empowerment Trust. VTS is a true success story and has, since its establishment, grown and developed into a self-sustaining company benefitting the community it operates in as well as its shareholders.
The company operates in the transport and logistics industry and owns MAN trucks, 2023 models. We also own a 25,1 Share in MacDonald’s Transport, a giant in the transport industry in Southern Africa. All our vehicles are fitted with the latest tracking and driver monitoring technology. In respect of trailers, VTS has a rental contract with MacDonald’s Transport. The company’s head office is in Upington and has a satellite facility in Johannesburg. VTS currently operates throughout South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland.
VTS’s management is in a fortunate position of having the support, guidance and mentorship of the MacDonald’s Group and has access to resources belonging to the MacDonald’s Group, by virtue of being a partner. The company has furthermore entered into several service level agreements with its various service providers to ensure high quality, skilled support at all times. Guidance and mentorship are a prominent and important part of the management support received from MacDonald’s Group.
As a result of the unique support VTS enjoys from MacDonald’s Group, VTS is able to obtain and successfully service, large companies and contracts.

Vukapanda Broad-Based Empowerment Trust
The Shareholders of the MacDonald’s Group identified the need to invest in its people and especially previously disadvantaged South Africans and thus founded the Vukapanda Broad-Based Empowerment Trust.
All beneficiaries of this Trust are previously disadvantaged employees of MacDonald’s Transport, who meet with prescribed criteria. The aim of the Trust is to empower the beneficiaries and also contribute to the economic growth of our country.
Vukapanda is B-BBEE Level 3.
